The Best Sunscreen Ever

There is a lot of evidence to show that sunscreens that ABSORB harmful ultraviolet light rather that REFLECT it may actually not be all that great for the body.

One reason is that the chemicals that ABSORB UV light (oxybenzone etc.) could mimic the effects of estrogen and/or disrupt the natural hormonal balance of the body.

Another reason is that it is possible that when these chemicals ABSORB the ultraviolet light they create free radicals which can have a damaging effect on the skin and body.

Lastly, the chemicals that ABSORB UV light take about 20-30 minutes to reach maximum efficacy which is not ideal if you only remember to put on your sunscreen right before getting in the pool.

Therefore I highly recommend the sunscreens with ingredients that REFLECT the UV light. These are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. My favorite of all time is ELTA MD, UV Pure Water-Resistant Face & Body Physical Sunscreen SPF 47. It costs about $30 per bottle but is well worth it.
